What is the TEACH Scholarship Program?

The TEACH (Teacher Education and Compensation Helps) Early Childhood® Scholarship Program is here to support your professional growth! This valuable program provides scholarships to early childhood educators in Florida, empowering them to earn credentials and degrees without the financial burden.

How do I know if I qualify for the TEACH Scholarship?

The TEACH Scholarship is designed to help eligible early childhood educators cover the cost of earning a  FCCPC credential.  You may qualify if:

  • Employment: You work or volunteer at least 20 hours per week (or 520  hours annually) in a licensed, license-exempt, or registered child care facility or family child care home.

  • Education: You have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Sponsorship: You have support from your employer/director (sponsor), who also must agree to participate in the partnership.

  • Role: You work directly with young children (Birth-School-Age)

You will receive an email from CCEI with next steps to complete your enrollment request.

 An email will also be sent to the ELC of Miami Dade/Monroe for approval.

Receive approval from the ELC of Miami Dade/Monroe

Receive confirmation from the ELC of Miami Dade/Monroe that you are eligible. If you have questions about your eligibility, email:  aordosgoitia@elcmdm.org

Apply for the Scholarship and receive approval

A CCEI enrollment form will be sent. Once completed, go to The Children's Forum Portal to complete the TEACH Early Childhood® Scholarship Online Application.

You will need your CCEI confirmation number to apply.

Processing time for your TEACH Scholarship can take 3-4 weeks. 

Check The Children's Forum Portal for additional information or requirements, ensuring a smooth start upon gaining your approval status.

How long does it take to earn my FCCPC Credential?

While everyone is different, on average it takes most educators between 6-8months.

What are the core requirements to earn a FCCPC Credentials?

The core requirements for the FCCPC include:

  • An accredited high school diploma or GED®
  • A minimum of 120 hours of early childhood instruction (12 CEUs)
  • 480 contact hours with children in an early childhood setting (80 of which must be completed while you are taking the required instruction courses)
  • An early childhood portfolio
  • Formal observation
  • Pass an exam

Yes. CCEI's FCCPC program is 100% online, so you can complete your coursework from anywhere with an internet connection. There are no in-person classes, making it easy to fit your training into your busy schedule.

Can I complete the coursework at my own pace?

Yes. The FCCPC program is self-paced, allowing you to learn when it's most convenient for you. You can log in anytime, day or night, and work through the courses at a pace that fits your schedule while staying on track to meet your program requirements.

How many training hours are included?

The FCCPC program includes 120 clock hours of online coursework that meets the educational training requirements for the Florida Child Care Professional Credential. Along the way, you'll build the knowledge and skills needed to succeed as an early childhood educator. Your Education Coach will also guide you through the additional requirements, including your professional portfolio, classroom observation, and competency exam, so you'll understand each step of the credentialing process.
